Production Internship Program
Location Description:
DCTV is Washington’s Public Access Corporation, operating 2 channels
in the district, and dedicated to building communities through telecommunications.
DCTV allows residents, and non-residents, the opportunity to create and telecast
their own shows for D.C. communities on cable television. DCTV is located in
Brookland, across the street from Metro, and has a parking lot for staff and
interns.
Internship:
The internship will consist of approximately 20-hours of work per week throughout
the semester. Production interns will be trained on DCTV equipment, including
field, studio, and editing equipment. The intern will assist with equipment
and facilities check-out to members, crew various productions, and help instructors
with training classes. The internship will also include a semester-long project
promoting DCTV and it’s programs or facilities, to air on the channels.
Hours:
20 hours per week for a total of 200 per semester (10 weeks), mostly afternoons,
evenings, and Saturdays (3-4 shifts per week). Depending on availability.

The successful candidate will be production-minded,
have at least a basic knowledge of the equipment involved
with production, and be able to operate with diverse people.
Knowledge of Public Access would be beneficial, but is not
a requirement.
